When travelling in Cordoba, Andalucia, admiring this amazing old doorway dating back to 987AD, I spotted a poor woman selling trinkets and lace on the steps. I only had time for the quickest of sketches, but something about the scene stayed in my memory and I’ve finally tried to capture the feeling of the moment.
